Weekly News, Nov. 8th

We hope that you are enjoying this new feature of our Larsen Global blog. We will continue to compile some of the things we have been reading throughout the week in hopes that you will find them useful. They will mostly, but not always, be USANA-related items covering health, nutrition and business.

The USANA Essentials are the keystone of the USANA product line. Here are 3 things that make the Essentials the right choice.

USANA is opening a huge new manufacturing facility in China. 兴奋的.

We could always use tips on improving our communication skills. This article includes 10 old letter-writing tips that work for email.

An interesting study on Vitamin D, and its effects in the bone density of offspring when the mother is deficient.

5 Things USANA’s Tim Haran has learned by working with social media.

We could all use help in finding balance. This article offers 3 tips on finding yours.

A great collection of videos from USANA’s Ask a Leader Series conveniently located in one place.

And finally, I usually close with a fun video or article. This week I wanted to share a video that hits very close to home for us at Larsen Global. It is a news story of a mom who lost her daughter and the connection she made with the recipient of her daughter’s donated heart. It’s an amazingly beautiful story, and I hope you take the time to watch it, and consider signing up to become an organ donor.

Thank you and have a great weekend.

We hope that you are enjoying this new feature of our Larsen Global blog. We will continue to compile some of the things we have been reading throughout the week in hopes that you will find them useful. They will mostly, but not always, be USANA-related items covering health, nutrition and business.

This week, we posted a podcast with the head of USANA’s social media department, Tim Haran. Listen as Tim and Ryan discuss all things social media.

Tim and his crew put out great content at What’s Up USANA?, including this recent video on personal development from USANA’s President, Kevin Guest.

An interesting list of endocrine disruptors and how to avoid them.

This is a good read on happiness from Chris Guillebeau. There are business implications here as well, and I think it has more to do with attracting the right kind of people when we are happy than trying to convince everyone to do what we are doing.

This inspiring weight loss story shows what can happen with determination, proper nutrition and exercise.

A timely post (as we recover from our Halloween sugar hangover) on the surprising amounts of sugar in everyday foods (and their equivalent in Krispy Kreme donuts).

Yesterday was Halloween, and like most of you, we handed out candy and the kids have bags of it. We try to raise healthy kids who take their Usanimals every day, but we try to be more lenient during Halloween. Consider the alternative — a hilarious look at healthy Halloween treats.

Have a great weekend.

USANA’s athletes had a stellar weekend. Congratulations on the great performances. It was great to hear Welterweight Champion of the World, Timothy Bradley, giving props to USANA after his big win.

A good article on avoiding toxins in skin care (Sensé, anyone?).

This is a fun test from The New York Times on the important skill of reading people’s emotions. I got a not-so-great score of 24, what about you?

An oldie, but goodie. If this video doesn’t convince you to get out and try to exercise 30 minutes every day, nothing will.

Why not multi-task and listen to our latest Larsen Global podcast while out on your walk?

This post makes me hungry for apples, and I’m going to give the Apple Pie Nutrimeal smoothie a try.

Thanks for reading, and have a great weekend.
